M. trapezius: the illustration shows the upper part of the muscle (fibers labeled G) attaching to protuberantia occipitalis externa (E), linea nuchalis superior (F), ligamentum nuchae, and spine of the seventh cervical vertebra (K), and passing downward to attach to the clavicle and acromion (H). The middle (fibers labeled I) and lower (fibers labeled D) parts of the muscle are attached to the spines of all twelve thoracic vertebrae (between K and G) and pass horizontally and upward to attach to the acromion (H) and spine (*) of the scapula.
