(Chapter 19) Footnote 21:

The 1555 edition continues: “It would now be useful also to examine in passing the three figures in which the complete structure of the bones is presented in three aspects at the end of the present book. Further, it will be of no small use to inspect the thorax in the 8th table of muscles and the fourteenth table, because they show the truer form of the thorax and the course of the ribs which can be followed from the bones that we deliberately reattached; these illustrate the not quite oblique course of the ribs, and present an even greater interval than is correct between the tip of the lowest rib and the ridge of the iliac bone.”
